About

EQ-i 2.0® and EQ 360®

What is Emotional Intelligence and why is it important?

Emotional intelligence refers to a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way. Research supporting the importance of emotional intelligence dates back over 30 years, and while it was made popular in the late 1990s, arguably it is even more important in today's turbulent times that we are developing emotionally intelligent talent to have the skills and resilience to lead and drive innovation and business growth.

EQ-i 2.0® and EQ 360®

The EQ-i 2.0® and EQ 360® were one of the first scientifically validated assessments of emotional intelligence, supported by extensive cross-cultural research, and consequently have become one of the most widely used emotional intelligence instruments in the world. The model looks at emotional intelligence as being comprised of five broad components of emotional intelligence, that are broken down into 15 subscales of individual emotional and social competencies.

Leadership Development - Emotional Intelligence - EQ-1 2.0

Council uses the EQ-i® instrument, in conjunction with MBTI®, as the fundamental basis for our Leadership Development Program. The EQ-i® tool has seen our emerging leaders learn more about themselves, how they utilise their emotions in the workplace and how their actions and reactions can impact on their effectiveness as a leader. Armed with this insight, it is great to see them practically develop these skills throughout the program.
